Message Actions

ON AIR

When you press Enter on the On Air action, the selected message is added to the On Air Queue. Messages added in this way appear in the queue on the right-hand side of the screen.

Messages currently in the On Air Queue are highlighted in red and marked ONAIRin the Message Queue. If press enter when the ON AIR Action is red the message will be removed from the On Air queue (the message will not be marked as USED).

You can also filter the Message Queue to show only the messages that are currently in the On Air Queue.

Tag

Each team has up to nine tags available by default. These usually appear as colours, and a single message can have more than one tag applied to it.

Tags help you group messages in meaningful ways. For example, you might use them for:

  • different presenters
  • programme segments
  • guest sections
  • topics
  • competition phases
  • priority categories

A message can be tagged before or after it is placed in the On Air Queue. Once it is in the On Air Queue, the tag is also visible there.

You can filter the Message Queue by tag to see only messages matching a certain category. This makes it much easier to move quickly between different parts of a programme or to direct messages to different presenters.

Edit

Before a message is used on air, you may want to edit it.

Editing allows you to make a message clearer, shorter, or more suitable for use in the programme, while still preserving the original message for reference.

When editing a message, you can typically see:

  • the original sender
  • the sender’s phone number
  • the message text

View

Bionic Cloud supports media messages via WhastApp as well as text.

Voice Notes

Voice notes can be identified either by the waeveform icon in the Message Queue or by filtering specifically for voice notes.

When you select a voice note and choose View, the system displays the waveform and allows you to play the audio.

You can then:

  • listen to the voice note
  • download the audio file

When downloaded, the system converts the voice note into a standard audio file format, making it easier to pass play or import into playout workflows.

Pictures

If a message contains an image, selecting View opens a preview of the picture.

You can also download the file through the browser to your desktop if required.

Video

If a message contains video, the View action shows a preview.

As with images and voice notes, video files can previewed and downloaded.

These media features are useful when audience interaction goes beyond text and includes rich content that may be needed elsewhere in the production workflow.

The Copy function allows you to copy the message text for use elsewhere, such as a spreadsheet, another system, or production notes.

Reply

If you have the appropriate permissions, you can reply directly to contributors from within the console.

Copy

The Copy function allows you to copy the message text for use elsewhere, such as a spreadsheet, another system, or production notes.

Mute

The Mute function allows you to temporarily suppress messages.

Depending on permissions, you may be able to mute:

  • the contributor’s number
  • further messages matching the message text itself

Muting by text is especially useful if the same wording is being repeatedly submitted as part of a campaign or harassment.

A standard mute lasts for a limited period (three hours).

If your permissions allow it, you may also be able to block a contributor for longer.

History

The History action shows previous messages and related information for that contributor.

Forward

The Forward function is used for more advanced workflows, where a message needs to be routed somewhere other than being read on air.

For example, messages might be forwarded to:

  • off-air graphics
  • a published queue
  • a custom destination
  • an email address such as a traffic and travel provider
