Phone Number Visibility

By default, the sender’s phone number is partially hidden, showing only the last digits.

If your permissions allow it, you can reveal the full number. This is audited, which means the system records that your account revealed identity information at that time.

Adding a Display Name

You can add a display name for any contributor. For example, if you identify the sender as “Steve”, that name can be attached to the number for your team’s use.

This display name is team-specific. It helps your team recognise repeat or trusted contributors. It does not change how the number appears for other teams.

Editing Text

You can shorten a message, tidy it up, or remove irrelevant detail so that the presenter receives the clearest version.

You can also restore the original wording if needed.

This is useful when a contributor sends a long message but only part of it is relevant for the programme.

Notes and Contributor Information

Messages can also include internal production notes.

If you add a note to a message, that note appears above the message in the On Air Queue. This is important because it means the presenter sees your instruction or context first.

A note might be used to indicate:

  • pronunciation guidance
  • context for the presenter
  • whether a message has been verified
  • whether a message is part of a competition or feature

The message area may also show contributor information such as:

  • whether the contributor is NEW
  • whether the message is EDITED
  • how many recent messages they have sent
