Under UK data protection law, individuals have the right to make a Subject Access Request (SAR) for personal information held about them by the BBC as Data Controller.
The BBC may also be required to provide information in response to requests made under the Freedom of Information Act (FOI).
The FOI tool in Bionic Cloud helps authorised users locate information held across the BBC Bionic Cloud system and generate reports to support the handling of these requests.

Exporting the results
The matching information can be exported as either:
- a formatted PDF report, suitable for review or disclosure; or
- a CSV file, providing the underlying information in a text-based format.
The exported information can then be reviewed and used as part of the BBC’s process for responding to the request.
